certain/uncertain
Galvanized steel, driftwood, LED light

Certain/uncertain responds to the tenuous relationship between humans and their environment. It explores our common desire for shelter- be it from nature, each other or circumstances- and how the idea of shelter can be permeable, transient and welcoming rather than divisive. This project rests beneath a natural skylight and adjacent to a 4’x 4’ lightbox that evokes sunset/sunrise; natural and artificial light both slowly shift throughout the day to create different experiences each time a viewer enters the sculpture.
